PDCM: Thirteenth pension can be instituted in 2022 already

The Party of Development and Consolidation of Moldova(PDCM)  promises to promote in the future Parliament a bill to institute the 13th pension for persons whose pension is lower than the minimum subsistence level. The issue was developed by the party’s leader Ion Chicu in an electoral meeting with employees of SA “Apă Canal Chisinau”, IPN reports.

Ion Chicu said the 13th pension can be instituted in 2022 already so as to offer this support that is guaranteed by law to persons with low incomes. “Very often politicians come and say that they will offer by 500 lei on Easter or by 700 lei on Christmas, on their own initiative. It’s clear that this money is not paid out of the own pocket as it is paid from the collected taxes. For those whose pension is lower than the minimum subsistence level, and these people total 640,000, we included the so-called 13th pension in our program. This way, pensioners will permanently benefit from this financial support, not through electoral presents,” explained Ion Chicu.

The PDCM pleads for the restoration of differentiated retirement age for women and men, by lowering this age for women. It will also promote a bill to enable women to increase the pension calculation basis after 57 if they continue work.
