PCRM’s protests will not influence elections, AEI MPs
The lawmakers of the Alliance for European Integration say the large-scale protests scheduled by the Communist Party (PCRM) for March 16 will not influence the voting process.
“They have the right to stage meetings and demonstrations. It is important that they do not hamper the people and the transport. They will not hinder us from electing the President,” the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu told the press.
“If the protests of the PCRM are peaceful and in accordance with the legislation, nobody bans them from mounting them. I think they want to hamper the voting process, but their actions will not affect the elections,” the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet has told Info-Prim Neo.
“Anyone can organize protests if they are not satisfied with something, but they should obey the law. I don’t think that the street protests can influence the atmosphere in Parliament. It would be better if the Communists attend the sitting, but the possible situation tomorrow will not affect us,” said Igor Corman, of the Democratic faction.
The PCRM intends to mount large-scale protests on March 16, when Parliament is to elect the head of state.
