PCRM to have consultations with PSRM on formation of electoral bloc

The administration of the Party of Communists (PCRM) will have consultations with the Party of Socialists so as to form an electoral bloc for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. A decision to this effect was taken by the Political Executive Committee of the PCRM on May 6, IPN reports.

“The PCRM and its administration remain on the same position concerning the assessment of the activity of the PSRM and Igor Dodon. Nevertheless, we cannot underestimate the risks to Moldova related by the future elections to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova,” runs a press release of the PCRM.

According to the Communists, “within the consultations with representatives of the PSRM on the creation of an electoral bloc for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021, the Political Executive Committee notes that in the current political situation, there are real threats coming from the unionist forces that can come to power after the snap parliamentary elections. They endanger the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, the country’s statehood”.

According to the press release, the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin and the secretaries of the party’s Central Committee (CC) are to continue the consultations with the PSRM so as to form an electoral bloc, taking into account the interests of the PCRM. CC secretary Oleg Reidman is to prepare the documents needed for forming an electoral bloc as a result of consultations with the PSRM, while CC secretary Constantin Starîș will prepare an argued position on the formation of the electoral bloc with the PSRM.
