PCRM: Government is behind raider attacks
The present government is behind the raider attacks on the four banks. They steal the banks from each other, Communist MP Mark Tcaciuc said in a news conference on September 6, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“Given the problems faced by Moldova, this problem is sufficiently legal. The bandits came. What should they do? Take the banks from each other. It is a natural, organic process of the present political system. The administration is behind those acts. It is their political sport,” said the Communist lawmaker.
Mark Tcaciuc also said that the PLDM’s request to immediately call a parliamentary sitting to question officials of the responsible institutions about the raider attacks can cause nothing bus disgust to society.
On September 5, Prime Minister Vlad Filat told a news conference that four banks operating in Moldova - Moldova Agroindbank, Banca de Economii, Victoriabank and Universalbank - were subjected to raider attacks. He stated that raider actions were also reported at the insurance company ASITO. According to him, 40% of the shares of this company were to be taken over illegally by offshore businesses.
The PCRM challenged in the Constitutional Court the decision whereby the Government assumed responsibility before Parliament and gave additional powers to the central bank, allowing it to control the dealings in bank shares.
