PCRM does not take part in investiture of President
The members of the Communist parliamentary group will not take part in the investiture of the new President of Moldova, the PCRM announced in a statement, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“The Communist faction sees no reasons for recognizing the results of the shameful March 16 farce and considers the election of the head of state by the current Parliament is a crime against the preeminence of the law and sovereignty of Moldova,” reads the statement.
The Communist MPs say they do not want to be witnesses to the ostentatious swearing-in as the President was elected not in accordance with the supreme law.
Earlier, the Social-Democratic Party, which is an extraparliamentary party, also announced that it will not take part in the investiture.
The swearing-in of Nicolae Timofti is taking place at the Palace of the Republic, starting at 2pm.
