PCRM – 43.5%, PLDM – 23.6 %, PDM – 18.1 %, PL – 10.8%, survey
If legislative elections were held next Sunday, the PCRM would win 43.5% of the poll, the PLDM – 23.6 %, the PDM – 18.1 %, while the PL – 10.8 %, shows the Reintegrated Opinion Barometer conducted by the Chisinau Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The PCRM lost almost 4% compared with the December survey, while the PLDM – 0.2%. The PDM improved slightly its electoral score, by 0.8%, while the PL –by almost 1%,” IMAS director Doru Petruti said in a news conference on Monday.
According to the poll, 1% of the respondents would vote for the Party of Socialists, while by 0.2% for the Democratic Action Party and the National Liberal Party.
5.7% of those questioned said they would not take part in the elections, while over 80% want the head of state to be elected directly by the people. 20% of the respondents are for a uninominal voting system.
The survey shows that Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who heads the Liberal Democratic Party, is the most influential politician in Moldova. This is the opinion of 31% of those polled. 23% chose the leader of the Communist Party Vladimir Voronin, 12% - the Head of Parliament and chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu, while 6% - First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, the deputy chairman of the PDM.
Asked to compare the key political figures with an animal, most of the respondents associated President Nicolae Timofti with a lamb, Marian Lupu with a lion and an elephant, Vlad Filat with a lion, Mihai Ghimpu with a donkey, dog, rooster and a turkey, while Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca with a rooster.
The survey was carried out on both sides of the Nistru River between April 10 and 24 and covered 1,390 respondents. The margin of sampling error is ±2.6%.
