Between June 8 -14, 2019, the Democratic Party made a political, not a legal, mistake. Then the decisions of the Constitutional Court were effective and the PDM complied with them. Pavel Filip, PDM interim chairman, made this statement on "Secrets of power" show, Jurnal TV, IPN reports.
"I confirm that the Democratic Party at that time was wrong from political but not legal point of view. Now there is this case (regarding the PDM coup attempt) which in my opinion is ridiculous and is a political one, constituting the first step to vote rigging in the local elections due to pressure put on the Democratic Party,” said the former prime minister.
Pavel Filip says that he blames himself that during that time when he was head of the Government, he did not have an extensive dialogue with the society. "It turned out that it was much more important to have a perception-based government, as we have now, in fact. From my point of view, there is no governance program, there is a perception based governance. I preferred, and it was a mistake, to work, to focus on true reforms," said the Democrat.
The former prime minister argues that the Moldovan justice easily favours those who have access to governance. According to him, it is impossible to control every prosecutor or every judge. The Democrat says that it is strange how the judicial system tackled certain cases sending them for re-examination or closing them after the change of power. "How come that when one party is in power cases are ruled on in one way and while there is another ruling party – in a quite different way? I believe that when we find the true answer to this question, we will have a fair justice system in the Republic of Moldova,” says Pavel Filip.
