Patriots of Moldova Party: They attempt to destroy Moldova from inside

“We can choose between the protection of the Russian Federation and the destruction of the Republic of Moldova from inside,” said the representative of the Patriots of Moldova Party Alexandr Popa. According to the candidate for MP, the party proposes holding a referendum on joining the Russian Federation as a republic as this way Moldova will enjoy the protection of Moscow, IPN reports.

In an
electoral debate at IPN, Alexandr Popa said the phenomenon of unionism in the Republic of Moldova can be counteracted by strengthening the Russian influence.

“We want to show that there are also other options in the Republic of Moldova, there is an opinion that is different from that of the pro-Romanian forces. When our party enters Parliament, we will be able to organize a referendum so that the Republic of Moldova joins the Russian Federation,” said Alexandr Popa, noting the voice of the people should prevail over the text of the Constitution in this plebiscite
.

“We plead for a referendum on Moldova’s union with the Russian Federation. If this referendum is successful and most of the citizens want to amend the Constitution, why not? We call on all the political forces to stop the destruction of the country and its sale for sacks of money to the Americans and the Europeans or to hold a referendum to obtain the protection of the Russian Federation. There is no other solution.”

The candidate considers the rapprochement with Russia will help remedy the economic situation in Moldova.

“It’s clear that the stolen billion will never be returned. Those who bear the blame for this theft will not be punished. The subject is used by some of the parties only to attract attention. The problem is that we lose not only a billion. We also lose other billions annually. Investors are afraid to come to the Republic of Moldova as they can lose their money at any moment,” stated Alexandr Popa.

In the July 11 snap parliamentary elections, the
Patriots of Moldova Party will be under No. 19 on the ballot.

The sixth electoral debate of the series “Analyzing Electoral Supply and Demand-2021” also involved the representative of the People Power Party.

IPN’s seventh electoral debate set for July 7, 11:15am, will feature the election contenders:  Working People’s People, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova.

IPN Agency stages the electoral debates as part of the series “Developing Political Culture though Public Debates”, with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation.
