The Party “The Labor Union Patria-Rodina” (PUMPR) will participate in the 2009 parliamentary elections on the lists of the Centrist Union (UCM) led by ex-premier Vasile Tarlev, Info-Prim Neo reports. PUMPR's leader Gheorghe Sima told a news conference Thursday his party will dissolve into the Centrist Union to reach to the Parliament. PUMPR supports UCM. The merger was decided because Vasile Tarlev heads the UCM. “The education, the professional and country management experience, the competence and the wisdom of demonstrated by Vasile Tarlev are qualities which will allow us, headed by a leader as Vasile Tarlev, to go past the parliament's threshold,” specified Patria-Rodina's leader. According to him, the PUMPR members' places on the UCM's list will be shortly discussed. In the 2005 parliamentary race, Patria-Rodina got 0.92% of ballots.
