From January 1, 2014, all the patients possessing heath policy will be able to freely choose the district hospital. The family doctor will inform the patients about the possibility of selecting the hospital and will recommend the optimal hospitalization variant, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the National Health Insurance Company, the patients can choose the district hospitals for programmed hospitalization in the nine health areas of the country.

Area 1 – Donduseni, Briceni, Edinet, Ocnita;
Area 2 – Rascani, Falesti, Glodeni, Sangerei;
Area 3 – Drochia, Floresti, Soroca;
Area 4 – Nisporeni, Calarasi, Ungheni;
Area 5 – Orhei, Rezina, Soldanesti, Telenesti;
Area 6 – Cimislia, Leova, Hancesti;
Area 7 – Criuleni, Straseni, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi;
Area 8 – Causeni, Stefan Voda;
Area 9 - Cahul, Basarabeasca, Cantemir, Taraclia, Ceadir-Lunga, Vulcanesti, Comrat.

Each of the hospitals will have by two waiting lists – one for patients from the area served by the hospital and another one for those from other service areas.
