Patentees from two Chisinau markets did not open their stalls on Monday morning
The patent holders working on the wholesale market situated on 21/2 Albisoara Street and on the market located on 8 Calea Basarabiei Street did not open their stalls in the morning of January 28, protesting thus against the law banning patent-based entrepreneurial activities.
Ghenadie Turetchi, member of the organisational committee of the protest, told Info-Prim Neo that the about 150 protesters gathered in the Square from Albisoara Street. “The state should not compel us to start businesses as these businesses will make us bankrupt,” Ghenadie Turetchi said.
According to the cited source, the police tried to disperse the protesters because they did not have authorisation for the protest. But later, the deputy police commissioner and commissioner of Rascani district, who came to the scene, promised the protesters they will not be disturbed. Ghenadie Turetchi says that the traders from the two markets will continue protesting the next days if they manage to remain united.
A number of 112 protests against the law that bans activity under patent have been organised in the country so far. Protests were held in Ungheni and Balti towns on January 23 and 24. Recently, the patent holders from Orhei blocked the national road going through the town.
