His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, circulated a pastoral message on the occasion of Easter, saying that the great feast day of the Resurrection reminds us year by year of the fact that the Son of God came down on earth and became a human being to free the people from the slavery of death and to turn them to his Creator and Father. For his part, His Holiness Petru, Metropolitan Bishop of Bessarabia and Exarch of Land, in his pastoral message says that this great holiday forms the basis of our salvation and revival, while Easter becomes the spring and basis of the Christian unity, IPN reports.
“My dear faithful, let us multiply the Peace of Christ in our hearts so as to be part of his Resurrection. The return to life of Christ brings peace and joy to the people. The resurrected Christ didn’t find a more suitable word to address the Myrrh-Bearing Women in the morning of his Resurrection than “Rejoice!”, while the Apostles said the words full of hope “Peace to You!”. Let the peace and joy coming from the miracle of the Resurrection embrace the whole mankind. On his great feast day, let us celebrate and embrace each other and say “brothers” even to those who hate us. Let us forgive everything for the sake of the Resurrection so that, as Saint John Chrysostom taught us, we all join the joy or our Lord,” said His Holiness Vladimir, urging everyone to unite spiritually.
“The Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia joins the whole Christian world illuminated by the Return to Life of Christ. We call on all the Christians to bring, by words and good deeds, joy and light in the hearts of the old ones, the sick ones, the orphan ones, those who are wandering, those who suffer due to the war in Ukraine so that they also feel the sacrificing love of Christ who was crucified and returned to life to save mankind. The endless joy of the Resurrection should perpetuate among us. The Christ who triumphed over death should shed light, health, peace, inner joy and wellbeing on us,” said His Holiness Petru, noting that everyone separately and the whole Romanian nation should be now united more than ever in truth and justice and show forgiveness.
Christ is Risen!
