PAS MP about criticism leveled at government team: This is political and emotional

MP of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Vasile Grădinaru said the criticism leveled at the members of the Gavrilița Government by a part of society and the opposition is political and emotional in character. According to representatives of the government, the ministers work with a stiff budget and under enormous pressure caused by the war in Ukraine. On the other hand, representatives of the extraparliamentary opposition harshly criticize the Executive’s work and say that only those who do not have political affiliation are sacrificed in the Cabinet, IPN reports.

The chairman of the Coalition for Unity and Welfare Igor Munteanu said the Executive communicates with society and with representatives of the pro-European parties of Moldova in a defective way and this makes the government more vulnerable. The PAS keeps in posts only people from the party, while those who are not politically affiliated are sacrificed.

“The Government should build a space of communication with society and the pro-European partners. They communicate only with the development partners and communicate insufficiently with the authentic partners from nside the country and communicate extremely badly with the citizens. Everyone expects to see who is the next who will be removed from this cart of the Government. Marcel Spatari’s results were challenged inside the government team even if the image of excellent communicator was attributed to him owing to his qualities and because the press that applauded him. However, we must say that a minister of social protection distributed the money that was available to him, while other ministers didn’t have what to distribute,” Igor Munteanu stated in the program “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

In the same connection, the chairman of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Dinu Plîngău said there are dissentions inside the ruling party and the President and the Premier are even at odds and the dismissal of the Gavrilița Government can be taken into account.

“The persons who are better informed, including we as the former mates from the ACUM  Bloc, communicate with MPs and ministers of the government and know that things do not stand very well. There are arguments between President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița. They earlier also discussed the possibility of replacing the whole Cabinet, but it wasn’t known if these changes would take place in autumn or in spring already so that this Cabinet accumulates all the black balls. The PAS MPs and their sympathizers see the omissions. We do not see progress in areas that are not necessarily affected by the war, like the justice sector reform and the agricultural sector,” stated Dinu Plîngău.

For his part, PAS MP Vasile Grădinaru defended his mates from the Cabinet, saying that the Executive works in an extremely difficult period and has to deal with overlapping crisis and the  criticism leveled by society at Deputy Premier Andrei Spînu are unfounded.

“When we had objections to the speed of the actions of a minister, we said it. In the case of the former minister of agriculture, we said that we wanted a higher speed, while in the case of other ministers, we wanted greater communication. When they felt they were unable to cope, they resigned. It is their right. The criticism is now political and emotional. But we must treat this criticism against the difficulties experienced by a ministry. I’m not the lawyer for Andrei Spînu, but the decisions he took were rather difficult. The decision to sign the contract with MGRES was intensely criticized, but now that several months have passed, we see that it was appropriate. We have cheaper energy and gas that is slightly cheaper and we avoided the inflation that was generated by the rise in electricity charges,” said Vasile Grădinaru.

The Government led by Natalia Gavrilița was invested on August 6, 2021 by the votes of 61 PAS MPs. Vlad Kulminski was the first who left the Cabinet, quitting as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration. Later Viorel Gherciu stepped down as minister of agriculture and food industry, Iuliana Cantaragiu – as minister of environment, Sergiu Gaibu – as minister of economy and Marcel Spatari – as minister of labor and social protection.
