PAS launches campaign for November 5 local elections

The Action and Solidarity Party on Friday launched its campaign for the November 5 general local elections, announcing that it has over 700 mayoral candidates, about 1,200 candidates for district councilor seats and over 9,000 candidates for local councilor positions.

Held in one of Chisinau’s central squares, the event was attended by PAS parliamentarians, members of the Government, as well as ordinary PAS members and supporters. The audience was shown videos with president Maia Sandu and other officials presenting projects, such as the European Village or the Express European Village.

“Only PAS is Team Europe that can produce truly European mayors. We have two things to achieve this fall: one, win the elections; and two, let’s open the accession negotiations, because Moldova belongs in Europe”, declared Speaker Igor Grosu, who is also the president of PAS.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean noted that the president announced the country’s strategic goal: to achieve EU membership by 2030. A program to modernize the country’s villages and cities is to be implemented. “We need European mayors. Team Europe will implement development projects. On November 5, we vote PAS team, Team Europe”, declared Dorin Recean.

MP’s Lilian Carp, PAS’s Chisinau mayoral hopeful, said Moldova needs a capital where every resident can feel comfortable. “I assure you that during my term as general mayor, together with the PAS team, we will make the municipality of Chisinau comfortable, with the integration of all suburbs from a social, economic and cultural point of view”, the candidate declared.

Lilian Carp was assigned number 5 on the ballot.
