The Conservative Party (PC) describes itself as “a party in opposition to both the government and political opposition from Moldova”, the leader of the party, Natalia Nirca told Tuesday, November 14 a news conference, where she presented the program of PC. She declared that the party pleads in favor of totally changing the political configuration of the R. of Moldova and intends to substitute the present government. “Our goal is firm – to reach government”, Nirca declared. According to the cited source, PC is a new political centrist force, capable of solving the disastrous situation from Moldova. As regards the territorial integrity of Moldova, Nirca said that the objectives of PC target the territorial integrity and unification of the country by way of conciliation; a unique economic and customs space; unification of the banking and monetary systems etc. In the foreign affairs policy, PC pleads in favor of friendship relations and collaboration with the neighbor countries; foreign affairs based on the real interests of Moldova; more lively participation in the international organizations Moldova has already joined. According to the leader of PC, the relations with the East offered us more benefits, compared with the West, thus the direction of the foreign policy should comply with the national interests of the citizens. Representative of the party, Victor Baciu declared that PC will promote democracy and the values of the contemporary conservatism in order ensure economical development of Moldova. According to him, the party pleads in favor of economic growth by improving the macroeconomic balance; reaching a GDP growth of at least 6% annually; settling the rate of inflation below 10% annually etc. The representatives of PC claim that the party has over 10 thousand members from almost all the territorial administrative units of Moldova. The Conservative Party was registered at the Ministry of Justice in the summer of 2006. Over 20 parties act in the Republic of Moldova at present.
