The parties in Moldova are not afraid of losing their supporters. Some of them exist and enter Parliament only because the electorate is segmented, considers the president of honor of the Democratic Party (PDM). In a meeting with the young wing of the PDM, Dumitru Diacov said the voters are loyal to the parties - those who support the left always vote for the left parties, while those who support the right always vote for the right parties, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Dumitru Diacov gave as example Mihai Ghimpu. “The chairman of the Liberal Party feels more and more comfortable among his supporters because he tells things that some of the people want to hear,” he stated.
Referring to the political situation in the country, Dumitru Diacov said the politicians must do their utmost to avoid early legislative elections. Otherwise, Moldova’s foreign partners may become disappointed for good.
”The foreign partners can abandon Moldova if we do not manage to elect the head of state and avoid early elections. Our parties do not have common sense. If we do not bring the political crisis to an end, our foreign partners will consider us unserious and will no more want to cooperate with Moldova,” Dumitru Diacov said, adding the early elections must be no way caused by the Democrats.
