The recipients of old-age pensions set after January 1, 1999, who have an insurance period of at least ten years, will be able to have their pensions reexamined, in accordance with the law on the public pension system that was amended last December, as from July 1, 2020, IPN reports.
The person must file an application to the local house of social insurance and present the identity card and the employment record book in the original and a copy.
The National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) said the new rights to pension are offered from the month coming after the month the required document are submitted to the local house of social insurance. The augmentation of the pension after reexamination depends on the length of the insurance period and the size of the salary from which social insurance contributions were paid.
As of January 1, 2020, there have been reexamined the pensions of those who became entitled to an old-age pension before January 1, 1999, but have an insurance period after retirement lower than 15 years. Starting with January 1, 2019, there have been recalculated the pensions of those who retired before January 1, 1999 and have an insurance period after retirement of 15 years and more.
The recipients of old-age pensions who meet the aforementioned conditions, but didn’t request to have their pension recalculated until now for different reasons, can yet ask for a reexamination.
According to CNAS statistics, 6,443 pensions have been recalculated last year and in the first half of this year.
