A dialog among parties of liberal orientation has started, but it will take some time until its finishing. Yet some partial fusions will occur till the end of the year, the leader of the Social Liberal Party (PSL) Oleg Serebrian declared on Wednesday, October 18 during a joint press-conference with the deputy chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Dorin Chirtoaca and the MP Vitalia Pavlicenco. In the context, Chirtoaca declared that PL remains open for all those who support the consolidation of the liberal movement in Moldova, being based on principles of honesty, correctness, that of open, bilateral, direct communication, with less statements for press and a stronger emphasis on the agenda that has to be well-prepared so that the problems of the citizens are efficiently solved. Asked whether PSL will support Chirtoaca at the local elections of 2007, for the function of the Mayor of Chisinau municipality, Serebrian affirmed that PSL could support this candidate, if Chirtoaca or another valuable potential candidate would decide to participate in the electoral campaign as independent candidate. Supporting a candidate from another party, though, appeals to other type of relations, Serebrian mentioned. On the other hand, Vitalia Pavlicenco declared that discussions were also held in the group that recently separated from “Moldova Noastra” Alliance. They debated the issue of the 2007 elections, but didn’t reach a final conclusion. With all these, the cited source asserts that she supports the “refreshing of the political class”, but taking into consideration the success gained by Dorin Chirtoaca at the elections held in the autumn of 2005, there is a great probability to support him in the case he will run for mayor. The leader of PSL launched the initiative of creating a single liberal party, at the beginning of the year. Till now not a single faction has gave a straight answer to the proposal of the PSL leader.
