The electronic collection of signatures in the subscription lists for the candidates designated for the office of President of the country will be partially implemented for this year’s presidential election, IPN reports.
“Initiative groups must present at least 15,000 valid signatures of supporters, but the difference of up to 25,000 can also be collected through electronic subscription list. I want to note that this module will work through the qualified electronic signature possessed by the citizens have,” said the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission Pavel Postica.
Under the Electoral Code, in order to be registered by the Central Election Commission, all candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova submit subscription lists, which contain the signatures of at least 15,000 and no more than 25,000 voters from at least half of the number of second-level administrative-territorial units, i.e. districts and the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti.
