Parliamentary commission to determine how state was deprived of over 5m lei
The MPs Friday unanimously voted in favor of setting up a special parliamentary commission that is to establish how damage of over 5 million lei was caused to the state budget last summer, when there was adopted the law on casinos, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The law was passed by Parliament and promulgated by the then Acting President Mihai Ghimpu. It provided for the reduction of the tax for owning a gambling table from 360,000 to 180,000 lei. This tax was used until this February, when the lawmakers voted in favor of restoring the old tax of 360,000 lei.

The members of the commission representing the Communist parliamentary group are Zinaida Chistruga, Oleg Reidman, Anatolie Zagorodnyi, and Artur Reshetnikov. The Liberal Democratic Party fielded Tudor Deliu, Iurie Apostolachi and Simion Furdui, the Democratic Party - Raisa Apolschi, while the Liberal Party - Valeriu Munteanu. The chairman of the commission is to be elected by the members. Within 30 days, the commission is to render a report in Parliament.
