The MPs on February 24 accepted the resignation from the post of member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) tended by Maxim Lebedinski on January 26, IPN reports.
The application was submitted because the new post to which Lebedinski was named – of adviser to the President on legal matters and institutional relations and the Moldovan President’s representative in the relations with the Government and Parliament – is not compatible with that of CEC member.
Maxim Lebedinski was appointed member of the Central Election Commission on January 17, 2016. A new person will be proposed for the vacancy.
