The results of the parallel count of votes cast in Chisinau, Balti and Comrat municipalities, done by Promo-LEX Association, mainly coincide with the data presented by the Central Election Commission (CEC). The head of Promo-LEX’s Local Elections Observation Mission Pavel Postica told a news conference that the discrepancies are due to the calculation errors identified in the records reports. However, compared with the previous elections, the number of inaccurate records is much lower, IPN reports.
In the municipality of Chisinau, insignificant calculation errors were found in 10 records reports, but these do not refer to the first ten contestants. In Balti municipality, calculation mistakes were made in three records reports, while in Comrat municipality the data of the CEC coincide with those of Promo-LEX.
Among the violations identified during the vote count, the observers mentioned the fact that the members of some of the electoral bureaus stamped and signed the reports before introducing the voting results in them. According to Pavel Postica, this fact can generate political speculations.
With 99.68% of the votes counted in the municipality of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca polled 37.57% of the vote, while Zinaida Grecheanyi – 35.69%. After 100% of the votes were counted in Balti municipality, the Our Party’s candidate Renato Usatyii emerged victorious with 73.59% of the ballot. In Comrat municipality, independent candidate Nicolai Dudoglo polled 38.04% of the vote, while the Our Party’s candidate Serghei Anastasov – 34.01%. The two will thus duel in the second round of voting.
