Palace of Justice opened in Basarabeasca

A Palace of Justice has been inaugurated today in Basarabeasca town, 24 years after laying the foundation stone. “If we want fair justice, we must provide conditions for doing justice and then demand responsibility,” Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase said at the opening, Info-Prim Neo reports The palace started to be built in 1986. The constructions works were suspended in 1993 and resumed only in 2006. Alexandru Tanase said over 6 million lei was allocated from the state budget for completing this project. “The conditions offered by the new building are much better than before,” stressed the president of the Basarabeasca court Veronica Carapirea. She said they had only one courtroom and 3-4 judges shared by an office. Some of the hearings were held in judges’ offices. The chairman of the Supreme Council of Magistrates Dumitru Visterniceanu said the Council will contribute towards making the court a palace of justice and equity.
