PACE candidate files documents to Bălți Electoral Council

The candidate fielded by the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) for the post of mayor of Bălți municipality Ion Starciuc submitted the required documents to the Bălți District Electoral Council. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Coalition’s secretary Viorica Cemîrtan.

Ion Starciuc heads the PACE Local Organization in Bălți and is the secretary general for the northern region. He is a jurist by profession and is also a building engineer, having over ten years’ experience in the building sector.

The Party of Action and Solidarity’s candidate Boris Marcoci was registered as an electoral contender and can start campaigning.

So far, subscription lists for collecting signatures were asked by four applicants who intend to run as independents. These are Nicolae Chirinciuc, Arina Spătaru, Nicolae Grigorișin and Alexandru Litvinenco, with the latter presenting himself at the Bălți District Electoral Council today.

The independents must be supported by at least 5% of the voters in a constituency, but by not more than 10,000 persons.

The mayoral elections in Bălți municipality will take place on November 21.
