A number of 720 mayors have registered to take part in the Mayors’ Forums of December 9. The Government’s spokesman Daniel Vodă told a news conference that all the 895 mayors of the country, without exception, were invited to the Forum, IPN reports.

According to Daniel Vodă, the mayors are urged to come to the event regardless of their political affiliation. The Forum is staged for all the mayors interested in taking the opportunities associated with the European integration process. The program includes two sessions of discussion with representatives of the Government, Parliament, mayors’ offices, civil society, who will be able to speak about the future of the localities.

At the beginning of Wednesday’s meeting of the Cabinet, Prime Minister Dorin Recean called on the elected and reelected mayors to take part in the Forum. “Our objective is to build Europe at home and we need this cooperation,” stated the Premier.

The Mayors’ Forum is staged under the aegis of the President’s Office.
