Over 6,000 police officers to ensure proper conduct of runoff on November 15

More than 6,000 employees of the General Police Inspectorate will make sure that the presidential runoff on November 15 take places appropriately, IPN quoted Sergiu Paiu, head of the General Police Inspectorate, as saying in a press briefing.

“At national level, the police will engage over 6,000 employees so that they immediately deal with the reported cases and offenses during voting and ensure the smooth running of the whole process, until the ballots are transmitted to the district electrical councils. I warn the participants in elections that between 7am and 9pm, the employees of the GPI and ANTA will monitor the movement on the country’s territory of motor vehicles whose transportation capacity is larger than eight persons and the regular road passenger routes,” stated Sergiu Paiu.

Marin Maxian, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, called on the observers not to encourage the people to take illegal action. “Each citizen should understand that they will bear individual responsibility and there will be no collective responsibility and not the one who urged will be held accountable,” stated Marin Maxian, calling upon the people to inform the police whenever they see a violation of the legislation.
