More than 50 cars and motorbikes are participating in the contest-show Tuning Show 2009 held in the Great National Assembly Square today. This is the fourth edition of the event that takes place once in two years, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The show aims to popularize this type of motor culture and arouse the car lovers’ interest in tuning development and promotion. All the sports models sold in our country by car importers can be seen today at the show,” said Andrei Tabuica, of Auto Expert Journal, which organized the event.
“My car was brought from the U.S. It underwent certain changes in Moldova. I am a designer by occupation and I created its new image. It was black, but I colored it and changed some of its parts. I had worked on it for about two months,” said Mircea Marcu, automobilist from Chisinau.
“For me, the car is a pleasure. I dealt with cars for a long time and decided to make a special car for myself so that my grandchildren see how gifted their grandfather is. It took five years and a half of my free time to make this car. It was hard to find the parts I wanted. I bought three cars and made one. I had participated in eight contests with it and won prizes every time. I had to come here today to show it,” said another participant, Serghei Mogaldea.
“My motorcycle was made from four different motorbikes. When I told my friends I will make a motorcycle from the four I acquired during many months, they started to laugh. Now I laugh as I am very glad of the result. I waited for about three years to see it ready. I will give it to my first grandson who will be biker as I am,” said Serghei Midoni from Chisinau.
The contest consists of four sections: Best Engine, Best Exterior, Best Interior and Grand-Prix. The motorcyclists will compete for two prizes: Best Engine and Best Exterior.
The contest was organized by Auto Expert Journal with support from Teleradio-Moldova and Virtual Tuning.
