Over 450,000 people bought Rx drugs via eRețeta system in last 3 months

Over 450,000 people were sold prescription drugs and medical devices with CNAM coverage worth a total 359 million lei via the automated system eRețeta in April through July, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) reported.

The largest group of medicines, worth over 194 million lei, were for circulatory system diseases, bought by 340,000 patients.

The average cost of insurance-covered drugs per beneficiary was 797 lei, and the most expensive category of treatment was for nervous system conditions, with an average of over 1,800 lei per patient.

In April-July, the eRețeta system was used to fill over 900,000 CNAM-covered prescriptions in more than 1,500 pharmacies.

The digital system can be used to prescribe CNAM-covered drugs by any primary health care provider, emergency responder, or palliative care provider, and patients can fill these prescriptions at authorized drugstores by simply producing an ID.
