Almost 400 workers are daily involved in manual cleaning works in the municipality of Chisinau. Last week, the waste was taken away by 335 special trailers. Information about the conduct of the autumn cleanup campaign was presented by the head of the General Housing and Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov at the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, IPN reports.

The specialized municipal services cleanup public spaces and courtyards of apartment buildings, including the playgrounds and sports fields, platforms for household waste collection. Also, the workers mow the grass in the yards of residential blocks and on municipal lots. As many as 73 locations were arranged the past week.

At the same time, mechanized sanitation works were carried out on the main and secondary streets, as well as on sidewalks, with the help of Hako machines and tractor-towed vacuum road sweepers. About 20 units were involved in such works from Monday to Saturday and 10 on Sundays.

For the disposal of vegetable waste, municipal enterprises have a variable number of means of transport, between 7 and 30, depending on the needs. As the amount of leaves in autumn is greater, the workers use Avant mini loaders.

In the capital city, works are also carried out to demolish kiosks, gates, fences and anti-parking devices placed without authorization in public spaces. Worn metal elements on playgrounds are dismantled and taken away.
