Over 3,000 grades in Baccalaureate exams changed as a result of challenges

More than 3,000 grades were modified after students filed challenges, disputing the grades they got in the Baccalaureate exams. A number of 30,000 applications were submitted overall. As a result, the number of candidates who took all the Baccalaureate exams rose by 403, while the number of candidates who got only grades of ‘10’ increased from four to seven.

Minister of Education Maia Sandu told a news conference that 3,555 grades were increased by one point, while 13 grades by two points. The created situation will be analyzed and the teachers who graded the papers will be trained better for the future exams.

The new conference involved the students who got only grades of ‘10’. They said they are satisfied with they way the Baccalaureate exams were organized as effort was made to combat cheating by installing video cameras. They formulated suggestions about the education process. Violeta Nichifor, a graduate of “Mircea Eliade” Lyceum, said the parents should have access to children’s grades from a distance, as in some countries.

On July 6, 7, and 8, the students who didn’t pass the exams and those who didn’t come to the exams for objective reasons were able to submit applications, asking being allowed to take part in the additional Baccalaureate session that will take place on July 15-20.
