Over 30 institutions sign declaration of coalition for consolidation of local autonomy in Moldova

More than 30 institutions participating in the National Forum Fiscal Decentralisation: Challenges for Moldova have signed the declaration of the coalition for consolidation of local autonomy in Moldova, the director of the Business Consulting Institute, Mihai Roscovan, told journalists after the forum. According to the declaration, the coalition, a new non-formal and non-political structure, aims to amplify the dialogue and reach a consensus on elaboration and promotion of public policies regarding development of a modern and efficient local public administration, consolidation of democracy and local autonomy, support for fiscal decentralisation. The main objectives of the coalition include „the creation and promotion of public policies on consolidation of local financial autonomy”, „monitoring and assessment of the process and impact of decentralisation”, „wide participation of members of community in processes of transformation of local public administration and process of implementation of projects at local level and private initiatives.” The coalition pledges to extend the access and free circulation of information, knowledge and experience in the area of local public administration, enhance the quality of decisions adopted at national and local level for strengthening of local autonomy, implementation of a transparent and efficient mechanism of creation and use of local public financial resources.
