Over 200 persons protested in front of the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest

Over 200 persons protested, on Sunday afternoon, in front of the Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest as a sign of solidarity with those four pupils of the „Gheorghe Asachi” lyceum from Chisinau, who are investigated for destroying the inscription “Moldovan” on the frontispiece of the lyceum. On 4 May, the name of the institution was changed by the administration from Romanian-French Lyceum into Moldovan-French. According to press reports of Bucharest, the protest was initiated by the representatives of native Moldovan students, who were joined by students of Bucharest and other cities of Romania, as well as the representatives of certain non-governmental organizations. Moldovan police investigate those four students from „Gheorghe Asachi” Lyceum, who are risking a penal fine or even imprisonment.
