More than 1,500 kilograms of fish transported in insanitary conditions and without documents of origin were discovered at an internal checkpoint located on the administrative border with Transnistria, near Troita-Noua village. The merchandise was to be sold in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Customs Service. The fish was found in two VW vehicles with Transnistrian license number. The case is examined by the Customs Frauds Division of the Bender Customs Office. Several days earlier, 500 kilograms of fresh fish without documents of origin were discovered in a Mercedes-410D car with a license number of Slobozia, not far from Zaim village, Causeni. It was later established that the driver avoided the internal checkpoints. The seized goods are usually destroyed as they are transported without accompanying documents and it is not known if they are compliant with the veterinary-sanitary rules.
