In the first nine months of this year, over 12,700 citizens were issued electronic signatures by the Center for Information Technology in Finance (CTIF). According to CTIF, the electronic signature is becoming more and more popular, with the number increasing by 11.6% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, about 11,200 citizens renewed their public key certificates.
As of September 30, the total number of natural and legal persons holding electronic signatures issued by CTIF constituted over 22,800.
Holders of an electronic signature can remotely sign online documents, reports, applications, without queuing in the offices of public institutions, thus saving time and money, CTIF says in a press release.
Users are issued with a public key certificate and a flash drive for creating the electronic signature, with the contract being concluded for a period of one year. Due to security considerations, the certificate needs to be renewed once a year.
Those wishing to obtain electronic signatures can fill in the application online or at one of the two CTIF regional registration centers, in Chisinau and Balti..
