The number of infections with the novel coronavirus globally exceeded 100 million. More than 2.1 million people with COVID-19 died, IPN reports.
The U.S. tops the rankings with over 26 million infections. The U.S. also has the largest death toll from COVID-19 so far – over 435,450.
India comes second with over 10.6 million infections and 153,700 deaths caused by the novel coronavirus.
India is followed by Basil with 8.9 million cases of COVID-19, but more associated deaths – 218,900.
The Russian Federation ranks fourth with almost 3.7 million infections and over 71,000 deaths due to COVID-19.
Moldova by January 26 has got almost 157,000 infections with the novel coronavirus and 3,381 deaths associated with COVID-19. The neighboring Romania reported over 718,000 infections and more than 18,000 deaths. The statistics in Ukraine show over 1.2 million infections and more than 22,000 deaths.
