OSCE mission head reiterates determination of mediators, observers to settle Transnistrian conflict
The Moldovan Parliament's speaker, Marian Lupu, and the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Philip Remler, met on Monday and agreed on the existence of prerequisites for the near settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. The OSCE official has reiterated the determination of mediators and observers to engage fully in consultations to find out adequate solutions, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the press unit of the Legislature, Philip Remler assesses as balanced the position of the Moldovan authorities concerning the situation in Georgia and has stressed the importance of identifying exclusively peaceful solutions for the preservation of Moldova's territorial integrity.
Marian Lupu has underlined the importance of holding the talks in the 5+2 format, “which remains the optimal format ensuring the necessary transparency and credibility during the settlement period and the post-conflict period.”
The interlocutors have also discussed on the good cooperation relationships with the OSCE Mission in the parliamentarian dimension and agreed to intensify this dialog.
