The parliamentary commission entrusted with the task of elucidating the situation at Banca de Economii and in the banking system hid the truth, two members of the commission, who form part of the opposition, said in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.
Liberal MP Iurie Chirinciuc expressed his disagreement with the fact that the report was presented behind closed doors. “We wanted this report to be made public, and the Communists also wanted this. On the eve, I discussed the issue with Communist MP Oleg Reidman. They are probably afraid. They feared a reaction in society and the appearance of panic. Those from the Democratic Party are afraid most of all. While the commission worked, we had been warned by these not to reveal figures and names, being reminded about the Constitutional Court’s decision concerning the state secret. They wanted the truth to be hidden from the very beginning. Many aspects remained non-clarified, but they hurried to formulate their own conclusions,” he stated.
Chirinciuc noted that all the state institutions are to blame for what happened because they didn’t react appropriately. “Only the National Bank and the Information and Security Service took the right measures,” he said.
Socialist MP Vladimir Golovatiuc also considers that the commission hid the truth. “I don’t understand why this report was made secret when 70% of the information was taken from the Internet? When representatives of different bodies were questioned by the commission, it was practically impossible for those from the opposition to put questions. We were marginalized so that they could hide the truth I think,” he stated.
