Only some of Chisinau streets will be repaired
As there is no money, no extensive repair works will be carried out on the streets in Chisinau this year. There will be performed only maintenance works on some of the streets, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna said at the meeting of the City Hall officials on March 15.
“About 1 million square meters of street are in need of repair, but we cannot cope with a budget of only 26 million lei, plus the 30 million lei allocated additionally,” Veaceslav Tarna said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the official, 184 million lei is needed to repair only the 600,000 square meters of road planned initially. “Besides, the pluvial drainage channels must be cleaned and 3,100 square meters of road where pipes had been changed must be repaired,” Tarna said.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said all the additional money that will be collected into the municipal budget will be used to repair the streets. He instructed optimizing the use of money in all the budget-funded institutions and strictly monitoring how the money is managed.
