One person has so far filed an application to take part in the contest to fill the post of judge of the Constitutional Court instead of Tudor Pantiru, who tendered his resignation at the end of January. The candidate is Mihai Poalelungi, president of the Supreme Court of Justice. The deadline for submissions is March 3, IPN reports.
On its website, the Superior Council of Magistracy said the files that will be submitted will be examined in its March 6 sitting. The published list of candidates includes for not only Mihai Poalelungi.
After Tudor Pantiru resigned from the post of judge and president of the Constitutional Court, the press reported that the post was vacated for Mihai Poalelungi.
