Oil companies that do not fulfill ANRE’s prescriptions risk losing license

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) said the oil companies risk remaining without licenses if they do not fulfill the prescriptions issued by it following the identification of irregularities, IPN reports.

Under the methodology for calculating oil prices, the license holders are obliged to submit the calculations concerning the modification of prices to the ANRE within three days before the application of the new prices. In the second half of September, the ANRE issued prescriptions to 51 oil companies by which it requested presenting the given calculations, but its request was ignored.

After checking the calculations presented by 35 companies, the ANRE established that the information provided by 21 companies was correct, while the calculations of 14 companies were done not in accordance with the methodology. The Agency had to repeatedly issue prescriptions to the 14 companies and to the companies that didn’t obey the first prescription.

A number of 123 economic entities now hold 191 licenses enabling to trade in oil products in Moldova. This year, after it identified irregularities, the ANRE suspended a license allowing importing and selling wholesale liquefied petroleum gas and withdrew two licenses – one for the import and wholesale sale of liquefied petroleum gas and one for the import and sale of gasoline and diesel fuel.
