Officials discuss prevention of inflation of food prices

Officials from Bulgaria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine started to discuss on ways of combating the inflation of food prices through sustainable investments, earlier this week in London, Info-Prim Neo reports as informed by the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry. The participants in the conference share the global concern for food prices following the speedy rise in the costs of agricultural produce. As the food represents an important part of the consumer basket, its price represents a delicate issue for a series of countries in transition. The agenda contains topics envisaging the price increase in food, the causes, consequences, the effect of the inflation upon the population, the responsibilities of the public and private sectors, mobilizing investments into production etc. Moldova is represented by the deputy agriculture minister, Anatol Spivacenco. The event is organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD,) the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO.)
