The average monthly exchange rate of MDL against USD has increased from MDL 12.98 for USD 1 in January to MDL 12.83 for USD 1 in February. According to the data provided by the National Bank of Moldova, during February, the official exchange rate of MDL against USD had a positive trend. At the beginning of the month, the official exchange rate of MDL against USD constituted MDL 12.96, and MDL 12.80 for USD 1 – ate the end of the month. By late February 2007, the MDL against USD has increased in real terms by 1.77% compared with late December 2006. The average monthly exchange rate of MDL against EUR has increased from MDL 16.90 for EUR 1 to MDL 16.75 for EUR 1 in February 2007. At the same time, at the beginning of the month the official exchange rate of MDL against EUR constituted MDL 16.76 for EUR 1, and at the end of the month – MDL 16.91 for EUR 1. The average monthly exchange rate of MDL against the RUB has increased from MDL 0.49 for RUB 1 in January 2007 up to MDL 0.48 for RUB 1 in February 2007. At the beginning of the month, the official exchange rate of MDL against the RUB constituted MDL 0.48 for RUB 1, and at the end of the month - MDL 0.48.
