The PAS parliamentary group has registered a bill to upgrade the office of state secretary to public dignity status.
Lawmaker Sergiu Litvinenco (ACUM/PAS) posted on Facebook that this practice exists in almost every European country. Ministers and state secretaries will be political offices, while other Cabinet staff, such as heads of departments, advisers or specialists, will be public functionaries, i.e. apolitical.
“In the electoral campaign, the ‘apolitical’ staff employed by the Democratic Party based on loyalty as state secretaries and general state secretaries engaged in campaigning and appeared by Plahotniuc’s side more avidly than any official supporter of any political party”, wrote Litvinenco.
A second bill registered by the PAS group today seeks to outlaw duty-free establishments at the Moldovan border.
