The Constitutional Court’s decision showed that the lawmakers behaved absolutely irresponsibly on December 16, political annalist Oazu Nantoi stated for Info-Prim Neo.
“On December 16, the MPs not only neglected the law and the Constitution, but also sowed that they don’t care about the people of Moldova. The parliamentary parties should go to the political cemetery,” said Oazu Nantoi.
On January 11, the analyst put himself forward for President. Asked if he now will have more time to convince the lawmakers to support him, Oazu Nantoi said his gesture was aimed at sensitizing the MPs. “I wanted to wake up these misters who forgot what responsibility towards the voters is. If I was fielded, I wound’ be afraid to run for President,” he stated.
The Constitutional Court deemed unconstitutional the December 16 elections because the secrecy of voting was violated. The Parliament’s decision to set new elections was also declared unconstitutional. Consequently, the January 15 elections will not take place. The legislature is to fix a new date for the ordinary elections.
