Oazu Nantoi: At least no one can reproach us for being a corrupt Government

If Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița considers that Cabinet reshuffles are necessary, they will take place, said PAS MP Oazu Nantoi. According to him, the weakness of the Executive that is invoked by the parliamentary and extraparliamentary opposition is a subjective matter. For his part, ex-Deputy Parliament Speaker Alexandru Slusari considers the current Government is inefficient but its dismissal in the current conditions is inopportune, IPN reports.

Alexandru Slusari said the Government’s inefficiency and incapacity to handle crises are dangerous and can generate destabilization in society. The people’s increasing dissatisfaction can be used by representatives of a number of clans to mount large-scale protests and to try and remove the government.

“Destabilization can appear due to the incompetent ministers and the weak Government. This weakness is felt. The moment is now opportune for someone to destabilize the situation and to return to power. This autumn, attempts will be made to mobilize different interest groups but several fugitives are actually behind these. Cabinet reshuffles are necessary. As a citizen, I’m against the Government but I consider a Government should be changed when another Cabinet can be invested in 24 hours and I say this not because I like Missis Gavrilița a lot. Currently, in times of crisis, it is hard to do this. But the reshuffles are already very late and this can cost us a lot,” Alexandru Slusari stated in the program “Black Box” on TV8 channel.

For his part, PAS MP Oazu Nantoi denied the accusations of incompetence made against the Gavrilița Government. He said that if the citizens take to the streets in a large number, this will mean a coup attempt. Moldova has legally elected Government and Parliament and the replacement of the government is not a plausible scenario.

“The Government’s weakness is a subjective matter. At last no one can reproach us for being a corrupt Government. It is not the case to focus on reshuffles. These will occur if the Premier considers they are necessary. In case of protests, who will hatch a coup is what matters and this is serious as not the ordinary citizens will stage this coup. The ordinary citizens can protest against the increase in prices but the ordinary citizens will not go out to oust the government from power. The people who take to the streets should have some demands and some leaders. Show me these leaders. If there is concrete criticism of the government’s action or inaction, we are ready to deal with it,” said Oazu Nantoi.

Yesterday, during the first Parliament sitting of the autumn-winter session, the MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists proposed a no-confidence motion against the Gavrilița Government. In accordance with the law, the no-confidence motion is debated on the first day of plenary sitting of the week coming after the date the motion is put forward and can be adopted by the votes of at least 51 MPs.
