Chairman of the District Election Council of the Municipality of Chisinau (DECMC) Ion Cretu trusts that the minimum number of votes required to validate the elections in Chisinau will be reached. “Considering that 13% of voters came to the polling station until 12.30, I hope that by the end of the day the number of votes needed to validate the elections (25%) will be cast”, Cretu told Info-Prim Neo. About 18.8% of suburban electors voted until 12.30. In Chisinau, the most active are still the residents of Botanica district – 12.5%, followed by Centre – 12.4, Rascani and Buiucani – 11.7% and Ciocana 11.6%. The highest participation rate was registered in Condrita – 40%. In 2003, at the same hour the participation rate had constituted 18%. 9.5% and 6.5% respectively had participated at the same hour in the elections organised in July and November 2005.
