More than 46,000 cars were registered, for the first time, in the State Register of Transport of Moldova in the course of last year, up 27% compared with 2022, when almost 31,400 cars were registered, IPN reports.

The Public Services Agency said that most of the cars – over 34,000 lei - were manufactured before 2020. Almost 6,000 cars were manufactured in 2023, about 2,800 - in 2022, over 2,000 – in 2020, while another 1,200 – in 2021.

The Agency also presented rankings of new car makes preferred by Moldovans. Thus, the rankings are topped by cars manufactured in 2022-2023, of such makes as Kia Sportage, Dacia (Duster / Sandero / Logan) and Toyota (Rav 4 / Yaris Cross / Corolla), Skoda (Kodiaq / Karoq / Superb), Suzuki Vitara, Peugeot (3008), Hyundai Tucson, Renault Express, Geely Atlas Coolray / Pro, but also Haval H6.
