Note of protest handed over to Russia’s ambassador

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova on Tuesday presented the note of protest to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Chisinau Oleg Ozerov. The note is issued in connection with the Russian Federation’s illegal and deliberate interference in the electoral process of the Republic of Moldova in order to distort the results of the presidential election and the national constitutional referendum, to undermine and delegitimize the democratic process of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

Also, the MFA strongly condemned the violation of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova, given the fact that, on November 10, two Russian drones were detected on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Moldova - one in the Causeni district and the other one in Râșcani district.

Oleg Ozerov was appointed ambassador to the Republic of Moldova two months ago, on September 10, by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. The former ambassador of Russia Oleg Vasnetsov had held the post since 2018.

Last week, Moldova’s Ambassador to Moscow Lilian Darii was summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry and was issued with a note of protest against the alleged "discriminatory actions of Chisinau towards Russian observers".
