Notaries will pay social insurance contribution according to new procedure
Until the status of the notaries is changed from state into public, the social insurance contribution paid by the notaries will be 6% of the monthly incomes, under the amendments to the 2010 state social insurance budget law approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The social insurance contribution paid by the employer for salaried notaries will be 23% of the salary fund and other rewards, as at present.
The private notaries that will become public ones will also pay a social insurance contribution of 6% of the monthly salary and other rewards and will be entitled to all the types of state social services.
Earlier, the notaries paid a fixed sum into the state social insurance budget. Last year it was 3,708 lei, while this year – 4,044 lei. Thus, the notaries were entitled to only a minimum pension and death benefit.
The tax for 2010 was annulled as the private notaries are being replaced with public notaries who work under a license issued by the Ministry of Justice. The public notaries are independent and cover the costs related to their work themselves.
