Not any consumer can be disconnected from the natural gas network, said MP Dan Perciun, who heads the Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family, referring to Moldovagaz’s announcement about the planned disconnections.

According to the MP, the disconnections can take place only by observing the provisions of the law that bans disconnections from public utilities during the winter season, IPN reports.

Among those who cannot be disconnected are household users who meet three conditions: are in the high or very high energy vulnerability category; have a debt lower than 5,000 lei, and paid at least 50% of the amount that remained after the bill was subsidized.

SA Moldovagaz announced that nonresidential users that didn’t pay the bills will start to be disconnected from the gas supply on February 27. In the case of residential users, such actions will be taken as from March 1.
